ABOUT ME
|
I am a student at Central Michigan University (CMU) in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. Currently I am studying music and history education. My goals are to be a music educator at the secondary level. I was inspired by my high school band director, Jessica Tippett, my band students, who I taught during my junior and senior year of high school through the Traverse Bay Area Intermediate School District Career Tech Center Teacher Academy Program, as well as my peers who I perform with at CMU.
I have been performing on the oboe since 2010 and performed in marching band on the alto saxophone since 2012. I was a member of the Chippewa Marching Band at CMU from 2017 to 2019. Currently I perform in CMU's Symphony Band as well. In late 2019 I began substitute teaching in public school districts near my hometown of Mancelona, Michigan, and CMU. I express great gratitude and thanks for my roommates and closest friends at CMU, Madelyn Hannah Petersen, Olivia Charrette, and Kaylee James. They have supported me through my triumphs and struggles since attending CMU, and I could not ask for a better collection of people to learn and live with. I also thank my students from Mancelona, who have given me challenges and the experience I need to push myself onward. I also want to thank my family, teachers, and friends from Mancelona who have supported me on my journey at CMU. |
